Our approach is intentional.
-
Solid Bible-based curriculum that is exceptionally engaging for children.
-
Teachers that love little ones and are called to children’s ministry.
-
While cautiously setting aside the pressure to entertain, we aim to be inviting so children want to come to church. We have a lot of fun!
-
Respect for parents and their vested interest in the development of each son or daughter.
Volunteers in the children’s ministry have current, up to date PA clearances. All of the adults
involved with children have an active relationship with Jesus Christ. For more information on the YSBC safety policy, please view the link below.
The Children’s Ministry includes:
-
Children’s Sunday School, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM - Every Sunday, children (3 years - 6th) grade learn Bible stories, memorize Bible verses, participate in creative activities to serve the church body and have fun with friends.
-
Children’s Church, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Children (3 years - 6th grade) are always welcome in our services. We believe parents are the primary educators for their children. As such, every 3rd Sunday of the month, the church celebrates Holy Communion and families worship together through the entire service. All other Sundays, children have an option to attend Children’s Church directly after worship. YSBC utilizes the ‘Answers in Genesis’ curriculum. From cover to cover, children become familiar with the Bible, learn how to pray, memorize Bible verses and make application to their lives through creative activities.
-
Nursery (newborn - 3 yrs) - Located off the foyer, our 2-room nursery is stocked with infant & toddler essentials and fun toys. During the main service hours, it is supervised with volunteers. Parents are welcome to use the nursery if needed on the 3rd Sunday of the month, but is unsupervised.
-
Awana (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) - This exciting discipleship program is held on Thursday evenings during the school year. Check out our Awana page for more details.
-
Vacation Bible School - Every summer children track through the halls of YSBC excited for the chance to spend time with friends, learn about the Good News of Jesus Christ, play games and enjoy theme-based crafts. Typically, VBS is a morning program for four consecutive days in the summer.
Your gifts and talents can help us better serve the Lord in this valuable ministry. Contact the church office for more details or if you would like to volunteer.
